This shop specializes in chestnut-based confections and hails from Kumamoto Prefecture. 🌰
Kumamoto is a renowned region for high-quality chestnuts, boasting the second-largest production volume in Japan.
Their dedication to chestnuts shines through in their process: the nuts are sorted and refrigerated on the very day they are harvested, locking in their savory flavor and enhancing their natural sweetness. Using only these carefully selected chestnuts, they craft a rich, flavorful paste at their own dedicated processing facility.
This time, I tried two of their hugely popular products: “Kuri-zuki” (Chestnut Lover) and “Kuri-umaka” (Delicious Chestnut)!
“Kuri-zuki” is made using Japanese chestnuts from Kumamoto Prefecture, with nothing added but sugar and starch syrup; a unique production method brings out the full, delicious essence of the chestnut.
The chestnut flavor is incredibly rich, and the simple combination with a subtle sweetness creates a deep, truly delicious taste experience!
I personally became a fan after a friend gave me some to try and I was blown away, thinking, “This is absolutely delicious!”
