Let me introduce a popular curry spot in Fukuoka:
“Kitchen REST,” located on the first floor of the Shirobana Building at 2-9-18 Watanabe-dori, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City.
🍛🍛🍛🍛🍛🍛🍛🍛🍛
This place is bustling at lunchtime and is famous for its curry, Chicken Nanban, and tonkatsu (pork cutlet).
Their popular curry is a “matured black curry” created after three years of research; it is made by simmering only vegetables for three full days.
The lunch menu centers on curry but also offers set meals featuring dishes like Chicken Nanban and tonkatsu, attracting a wide range of customers.
This time, I had the Chicken Nanban Curry! 🍛 The curry itself is mild and packed with the savory flavor of vegetables, with just the right amount of spiciness to whet the appetite. 😋 As for the Chicken Nanban, the crispy fried chicken pairs perfectly with the sweet-and-sour glaze—which has just the right level of tang—and the refreshing tartar sauce. 🍗 When combined with the curry, the flavors truly complement each other, creating a wonderfully indulgent taste experience! It is absolutely delicious. 😍 Since the shop is run by just one person, please make sure to allow yourself plenty of time when you visit! ⏳
