Let me introduce a spot beloved by those working in Fukuoka’s business district.
It’s called “Big Tai wa Noboru” (ビック鯛はのぼる), located on the B1 floor of the Sun Selco building at 1-1-1 Watanabe-dori, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City. 😃

This place, full of heart and warmth, has been a go-to lunch spot for office workers for about 17 years.
The name “Big Tai wa Noboru” (meaning “The Big Sea Bream Ascends”) was chosen by the owner’s wife; seeing how happy he is when he talks about it is truly heartwarming. 😌
Menus are posted all over the shop, and for set meals, you can enjoy up to three servings of miso soup—plus, there’s complimentary coffee! ‼️
This time, I ordered the omelet curry (omu-curry). 🍛
The omelet curry has a gentle, nostalgic flavor that really warms the heart! 😃
For the price, you get a generous number of dishes, and the owner’s kindness—seen in gestures like offering extra helpings—truly reflects his wonderful character.
I highly recommend this eatery; it’s a place that captures the heartfelt, human warmth of the Showa era! ‼️
